A dedicated self-referral pathway offering expert assessment to determine suitability for oral immunotherapy.

The Allergy Centre of Excellence is pleased to introduce its Self-Referral OIT Diagnostic Gateway, a new service created to help families take the next step towards oral immunotherapy with greater clarity, confidence and speed.

This dedicated pathway allows parents to self-refer their child directly for a specialist, face-to-face assessment to determine whether oral immunotherapy (OIT) may be a suitable option. It has been designed specifically for families who are seeking expert guidance without needing a prior consultation with one of our consultants or professors.

During the appointment, your child will be seen by our highly experienced clinical team and may undergo a combination of clinical review, skin prick testing and FeNO testing, where appropriate. Every assessment is tailored, thorough and grounded in the latest evidence-based practice.

If your child is considered suitable for oral immunotherapy, the Diagnostic Gateway offers a clear and supported route into our OIT programme. Importantly, part of the assessment fee is credited towards the cost of treatment should you choose to proceed, helping families move forward with confidence and transparency.

Oral immunotherapy is a carefully supervised treatment that works by gradually increasing exposure to a specific food allergen, with the aim of reducing sensitivity and the risk of severe reactions. For many families, it can be a life-changing step, offering greater peace of mind and improved quality of life.
